San Diego indie rockers The Donkeys return to their blend of relaxed pop, surf
music, and Americana on Born With Stripes. The band's twangy 2008 Dead Oceans
debut, Living On the Other Side, was championed by the likes of John Darnielle
(The Mountain Goats) and Craig Finn (The Hold Steady). Their follow-up sees
the band nodding less to 1970s folk-rock and drawing more influence from '90s
indie legends such as Beck and Pavement.

And now to real business. Today alone (so far) there have been 2 rips
(ourselves [Times_New_Viking-Dancer_Equired-(Advance)-2011-FNT] and 404
[Joan_Of_Arc-Life_Like-(Advance)-2011-404]) released that do not contain
COVERS/ART/BOOKLETS because they are pre retail/advance/promos. This has made
the mp3 scene what it is today, supplying a rip before any other group can.
Even before the new rules were in effect we would supply pics of our discs,
you really think we are faking now?? C'mon. We have been releasing these ever
since we have formed as a group. The new rules do not take this into account,
you can clearly see from the proof pics the cd, case, a paper and my goddamned
dirty carpet. There needs to be a revision rules.
And lastly, happy 04-20.. I woke up today and started ripping and drinking at
5am. Please stop wasting my time, I could be doing many other things.
