Feels like old times. Even though Rivalries is a new
band this album feels like old school rock and roll.
An Ever Emerging Light is a perfect sing along on the
long drives and even on the short ones, definitely
the CD blasting in the car on your way to your
favorite bands concert.
The album is not rushed, its not slow, its perfect
for the background but it will definitely jump out
from the shadows and grab you and never leave your
head. The opening track Vanished is pretty much
what this band is all about, a great combination of
beats with a fluid sound and a nice sing along.
Following with Social VIP and Only In Your Head
with mesmerizing guitar work, not the kind that puts
you to sleep but the one that picks you up from your
seat. The EP goes down with We Wont Give In, a
track that is mellow yet engaging. Ending with I
Try, a song with an acoustic version somewhere
haunting the web, this time with a full bands set
giving it the right amount of caffeine. Enough to
make you addicted.
Rivalries is hanging on the late 90s - early 00s
sound, with a combination of a moving drum beats with
the electricity of the guitars and the guidance of
the bass, the sound creates enough energy inside you
to get you ready for whats next and it looks like
Rivalries are ready for whats next. You wont be
disappointed following the growth of this band. If
this is just the beginning, I cant wait to hear what
will come on a full length.
